C. E. Doner - Lessons in Ornamental Penmanship
C. E. Doner authored a short series of lessons in Ornamental Penmanship in the Penman Artist and Business Educator. Starting in the November - December issue in 1899, the series concluded after four lessons in the May - June issue in 1900.
An extremely concise set of lessons, Doner covers the basics and adds very little technical instruction. He provides a few pointers on overall attitude and determination. The letterforms are extremely refined, showing the skill Doner achieved about 7 years post graduation from the Zanerian.
Perhaps not the most helpful lessons, but interesting if you’re a Doner fan, which I happen to be!
